Just A Farmer

On Wednesday 16th July we hosted a screening of the Australian movie “Just A Farmer”. This powerful movie is one of the best movies I’ve watched in a long time. It was extremely well produced, and the authenticity was real. Its storyline resonated closely with our farming community and highlighted the challenges our farming community faces every day.

We were very privileged to have writer/producer/executive producer Leila McDougall join us on the evening and take part in a panel discussion at the conclusion of the film, alongside shearer/farmer John Harper and psychologist Dr Loraine Anderson. The community facilitated a lengthy discussion about farming, mental health challenges and the ongoing divide between city and country.

Special thanks to Boorowa Rotary and the Boorowa Ex Services Club for your support in putting the event together. Also thank you to the Boorowa Central School and local businesses around town who helped us promote the event.

If you missed the screening but would like to watch the movie at home, you can do so through Apple TV where it’s available to rent, or through using this link https://movie.justafarmermovie.com/checkout/just-a-farmer/purchase?campaign=af0001
